Feliz Navidad at Camp Hope!
On New Years Eve 2020, GSAC volunteers organized a wonderful Feliz Navidad meal for the homeless residents of Camp Hope. Tamales, side dishes, soft drinks and dessert! Our friends were also gifted beautiful hand-knit beanies, mugs, and the most amazing solar-powered LED light boxes, that will also charge their cell phones! The LuminAid light boxes were fundraised at The Gathering, Sonora, and we could not be more grateful for their generosity. So wonderful to see smiles on the faces of our dear friends during this holiday season.
Pancake Breakfast
The Gathering, Sonora put together a delicious pancake breakfast for our homeless friends on December 6th, 2020. Members of the church cooked outside and assembled bags with pancakes, sausage, butter, syrup, apple juice, milk and a $10 gift card to Subway! The bags were delivered to Camp Hope, where others were brewing fresh coffee via a generator. Camp Hope residents came down to pick up their breakfast bags, and other’s had them delivered right to their campsite! Members of The Gathering described the Pancake Breakfast as a true blessing to them all. It was such a treat to see residents of Camp Hope enjoying a nice, hot meal with friends.
